Texans Waive Tyler Johnson
2 years agoThe Houston Texans waived wide receiver Tyler Johnson on Tuesday, according to the team. In a corresponding move, the team signed Tyron Johnson to their active roster to provide some receiving depth behind Brandin Cooks, Nico Collins, Chris Moore and Phillip Dorsett. In just two games played this year for the Texans, Tyler Johnson played 29 offensive snaps in Weeks 4 and 5 and didn't record a single target on offense. The 24-year-old former fifth-round selection by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 out of Minnesota caught 48 of 72 targets for 529 yards and two touchdowns in his first two NFL seasons in Tampa. He'll now be looking for work on the open market.
