Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller is one of the best tight ends in the NFL. The star player has averaged 11.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game since the start of the 2020 season.
While the former sixth-round pick has been a top-scoring tight end in his career, injuries have impacted him over the past few years.
Last season, Waller missed six games because of injuries. This year, the veteran tight end has struggled with injuries again. He left the Week 5 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs after playing only 13% of the snaps with a hamstring injury.

Is Darren Waller Playing In Week 7 of Fantasy Football?
Unfortunately, Waller will miss the Week 7 matchup against the Houston Texans because of the hamstring injury.
Despite having the Week 6 bye to recover, the veteran tight end wasn’t able to practice this week and was ruled out on Friday for this week’s game because of the hamstring injury.
Should I Start Foster Moreau in Fantasy Football?
With Waller unable to play, Moreau will step up as the starting tight end for the Raiders. However, he spent part of the week on the injury report because of a knee injury. Thankfully, the former LSU star was a full participant in practice on Friday and is ready to play.
While he will start for the Raiders this week, is Moreau a suitable replacement for Waller in fantasy lineups?
Last year, the veteran tight end averaged only seven half-point PPR fantasy points in the six games he started for Waller.
Who Should I Target Off the Waiver Wire Instead?
Moreau is a solid replacement option for fantasy players. However, he likely isn’t the best option on the waiver wire.
I would start Hayden Hurst, Evan Engram, and Daniel Bellinger over Moreau this week. All three are available in at least 50% of ESPN leagues.
Of the three, Engram is my favorite streamer for Week 7. Not only is it revenge week for the former first-round pick, but he has an appealing matchup against the New York Giants.
The Giants have surrendered 9.5 receptions for 99 receiving yards, one touchdown, and 20.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game to tight ends the past two weeks. Meanwhile, Engram has 16 targets over the past two weeks, leading the team.
Hopefully, Engram can keep the streak alive and scores a touchdown this week against his former team.
