Anthony Rizzo Leading Off In Game 3
2 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo is starting at first base and is batting leadoff in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series on Saturday against the Houston Astros and right-hander Cristian Javier. The Yankees used center fielder Harrison Bader in the leadoff spot in the Game 2 loss, but he'll be moved back down to sixth in the order. In 29 plate appearances this postseason, Rizzo has gone 6-for-23 (.261) with to home runs, six RBI, three runs scored and four walks. The Yankees are looking for a catalyst at the top of the order to set the table for their big sluggers. The 33-year-old had a .338 on-base percentage in 465 regular season at-bats, although he also hit just .220 (76-for-345) against righties in 2022.
