2 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers acquired Pro Bowl running back Christian McCaffrey from the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night in exchange for undisclosed draft picks, according to sources. McCaffrey will return to the Bay Area, where he played at Stanford in college. McCaffrey will take over as the lead back in San Francisco, basically rendering Jeff Wilson Jr. useless for fantasy purposes moving forward. CMC will join a better offense and should become more attractive in fantasy. He entered Week 7 as the No. 4 RB in half-point PPR leagues with 85 carries for 393 yards and two touchdowns while adding 33 catches for 277 yards and another score. Back in Carolina, D'Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard should split backfield duties for a rebuilding Panthers team.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
