If the question in the title of this article was posed at the start of the season, you would have been leveled with a resounding “no” from the people you asked. Most fantasy managers or football fans would not have even known who we were talking about. But oh, how things have changed.
Kenny Golladay is a shell of his former self and has been constantly shelved by knee problems since signing with the Giants. Kadarius Toney has had one great game in two seasons and now has two bum hamstrings. Sterling Shepard suffered a season-ending injury for the 100th season in a row. Darius Slayton has eight receptions in five games. Richie James is the team’s leading receiver. Yes, Richie James!
Meanwhile, TE Daniel Bellinger has carved out a niche in New York’s offense. He rushed for a touchdown in Week 5 and caught a Daniel Jones touchdown toss in Week 6. What could he do for an encore in Week 7? And is he worth picking up on your league’s waiver wire? Here is my take:

Should I Add Daniel Bellinger In Fantasy Football?
If you need a tight end and you are not expecting Shannon Sharpe-like production, then Bellinger is indeed a good get. First off, he is finding ways to get into the end zone, and red-zone production is first and foremost what you want from your tight end since most players at the position do not provide above-average numbers in the receptions and yardage departments.
Bellinger is also a tight end on a team whose receiving corps is injury-prone, inconsistent, and ill-equipped to help any fantasy football managers. Bellinger is not a speed demon or blessed with tackle-breaking agility, but he will receive opportunities other tight ends will not simply because Jones does not have many quality receivers to throw to these days.
Bellinger’s upcoming schedule is advantageous as well. His next four games are against Jacksonville, Seattle, Houston, and Detroit. The latter three are currently the three worst defenses in the NFL in total defense. The Giants should have no problem throwing the ball over the next month, and Bellinger should benefit from these fantasy-friendly matchups.
There is not much on the fantasy waiver wires at tight end at this juncture, so Bellinger is certainly one of the best bets available. Pick him up if your tight end is on bye, injured, or just plain terrible, and you should get solid short-term stats from New York’s top tight end, and you will also get long-term potential from this rising star.
