Melvin Gordon III's Role Remains Unclear
2 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III finished with only three carries for eight yards in their 19-16 loss to the Chargers Monday night. After starting the game as the lead back, it was a strange turn of events, especially considering Latavius Murray rushed the ball 15 times for 66 yards. Following the game, head coach Nathaniel Hackett reported it was not because of injury, which added further cause for concern. Additionally, when asked about the usage, he said that moving forward, they'll need all three RBs. The situation remains murky at best, rendering Gordon unplayable unless we receive a more optimistic report before kickoff on Sunday. Denver will host the Jets, whose defense has played better recently, making it difficult to get excited about starting one of these running backs.
