Melvin Gordon III Wasn't Injured Monday Night
2 years agoDenver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett said that to his knowledge, running back Melvin Gordon III wasn't injured in the second half of the 19-16 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday. Gordon got the "start" but then only handled three carries for eight yards in the game. He wasn't seen at all in the second half and gave way to Latavius Murray, who was making his team debut. Gordon played a season-low 16 percent of the offensive snaps and wasn't targeted in the passing game. It was a true disappearing act and was not expected, as the 29-year-old was expected to serve as the team's primary back moving forward after Javonte Williams' (knee) season-ending injury. It remains to be seen if Gordon will be the odd man out in this backfield moving forward.
