2 years agoCleveland Guardians right-hander Triston McKenzie will start in Game 3 of the American League Division Series on Saturday against the New York Yankees. Manager Terry Francona said the team is leaning toward not starting right-hander Shane Bieber, who will start Game 2 on Friday, on short rest for a potential series-deciding Game 5, but that's now entirely out the window with Game 2 being postponed on Thursday. McKenzie was outstanding in his first career playoff start in the Game 2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in the Wild-Card Series last Saturday, tossing six shutout innings while giving up two hits, walking two and striking out eight. In his lone start against the Yankees in 2022, McKenzie fired seven shutout innings, giving up one hit, walking one and striking out seven in a victory.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
