2 years agoNew England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones (ankle) and tight end Jonnu Smith (ankle) are both officially inactive in Week 5 against the Detroit Lions, as expected. Both Jones and Smith came into the game listed as doubtful. Jones will miss his second straight game, and he might miss another in Week 6 after suffering a severe high-ankle sprain in Week 3. With veteran backup Brian Hoyer (concussion) on Injured Reserve, rookie Bailey Zappe will make his first career start this Sunday. He looked good in limited duty in his NFL debut last week, but he'll be a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues in his first career start. With Smith out, Hunter Henry, who has done very little so far this year, will have an expanded role against Detroit.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
