2 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans forward Jaxson Hayes (elbow) suffered a torn UCL in his left elbow during Friday's preseason outing versus Detroit. He will miss at least two weeks before being re-evaluated. The 22-year-old is coming off his best season as a professional, finishing with averages of 9.3 points and 4.5 rebounds. However, he shot a career-worst 61.6% from the field. With Zion Williamson and Larry Nance expected to handle most of the minutes at the four spot, Hayes isn't forecasted to get much work at the position. Jonas Valanciunas has things locked down in the middle, and the presence of Willy Hernangomez could bump Hayes out of the lineup enough to keep him out of fantasy consideration. With that said, he may earn some appearances as a starter during the 2022-23 campaign, so there could be streaming potential throughout the season.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
