Aaron Judge Breaks AL Record, Hits Homer No. 62
2 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge made history on Tuesday in the second game of a doubleheader against the Texas Rangers when he clobbered home run No. 62 on the season off Rangers right-hander Jesus Tinoco in the first inning to break Roger Maris' single-season American League home run record. The 30-year-old slugger is having an otherworldly season in 2022 and is an absolute lock to win AL MVP this year. Judge came into Tuesday's doubleheader against Texas leading the league in runs scored (131), homers (61), RBI (130), walks (111), on-base percentage (.426), slugging percentage (.686), OPS (1.112) and total bases (386) in 155 games played. He's slated to become a free agent this winter, but it would be a pretty big surprise if the Yankees let him get away after a historic 2022 season.
