Tim Anderson Shut Down For The Year
2 years agoChicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson (hand) has been shut down for the rest of the regular season with the team being eliminated from playoff contention, according to interim manager Miguel Cairo. Anderson had surgery in August to fix a sagittal-band tear in his left hand and he will end up missing the rest of a disappointing season for the Pale Hose in 2022. There's no reason for the team to bring the star shortstop back now that they won't make the postseason. Veteran Elvis Andrus will continue to serve as the team's primary shortstop the rest of the way. Anderson will finish his 2022 campaign with a .301/.339/.395 slash line, six home runs, 25 RBI, 50 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 351 plate appearances over 79 games played.
