J.K. Dobbins Injury Update
With Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins (knee) making his season debut in Week 3 against the New England Patriots, Kenyan Drake has become a healthy scratch. The Ravens will roll with a backfield consisting of Drake, Justice Hill and Mike Davis this weekend.
Dobbins could be somewhat limited in his first start of the season after missing all of last year with a torn ACL, but he's fully expected to lead Baltimore's backfield when he's fully healthy. It means that neither Hill nor Davis will have any kind of standalone value in fantasy. In two games without Dobbins available, Drake carried the ball 17 times for only 39 yards (2.3 yards per tote) while adding one catch for 15 yards.
Jakobi Meyers Injury Update
New England Patriots wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (knee) and safety Kyle Dugger (knee) have officially been ruled out for Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens. Fantasy managers need to make sure to remove Meyers from their lineups this weekend. It's a shame, too, after he caught nine of 13 targets for 95 yards in the Week 2 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Nelson Agholor, DeVante Parker and Kendrick Bourne are in line to see a boost in targets this Sunday as a result of Meyers being inactive. Tight ends Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith, although they've done very little through two games, could also be sneaky deep-league streamers at the position in Week 3 against a Baltimore defense that allowed over 40 points to the Dolphins last week.
Josh Jacobs Injury Update
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (ribs) is pushing to play in Week 3 despite fracturing cartilage in his ribs last week. The medical staff has encouraged Herbert to take a long look before deciding on what to do. Herbert is debating on getting a pain-killing injection, which would likely allow him to suit up for Week 3.
However, the organization doesn't want Herbert to suffer a longer injury by playing through the issue. It sounds like Herbert is leaning towards playing, but fantasy managers should check back before kickoff. The Chargers offense would take a significant hit, assuming Herbert is unable to suit up.
James Conner Injury Update
Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner (ankle) will test his injury pre-game but is trending towards playing against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3, according to Adam Schefter.
Conner suffered the injury last weekend and carries a "questionable" designation into this Sunday's game. Conner totaled 55 yards and one touchdown back in Week 1. He is the clear lead back in the Arizona offense and should be viewed as a mid-range RB2 for the time being.
Alvin Kamara Injury Update
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (ribs) is active for Sunday's Week 3 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. He has been banged up most of the season due to a ribs issue. Kamara missed last week's game, but will get back on the field for this game. There is no word on Kamara being limited, so fantasy managers should expect him to get a full workload. Fantasy managers should consider Kamara a low-end RB1 for this matchup.
Justin Herbert Injury Update
Gabe Davis Injury Update
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis (ankle) is officially active in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins, as expected. Davis was listed as questionable on the team's final injury report on Friday after he sat out in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans. The 23-year-old will resume his role as a primary cog in the high-flying Bills passing attack, so he should be returned to starting fantasy lineups everywhere.
In the season-opening win, Davis caught four of his five targets for 88 yards and a touchdown while playing 98 percent of the offensive snaps. He has some boom-or-bust potential, but with this divisional clash against Miami having high-scoring potential, Davis has plenty of upside as a WR2.
Taysom Hill Injury Update
New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill (ribs) is officially inactive for the Week 3 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. He was questionable heading into this contest, but it sounds like his rib issue was too much for him.
Hill was fantastic in Week 1 but posted a dud in the following week. His absence shouldn't have much of an impact in fantasy football. There should be more targets for the Saints wideouts with Hill inactive for this game.
