Brandon Nimmo Returns For Mets Friday
2 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (quadriceps) is back in center field and batting leadoff on Friday against the Oakland Athletics and left-hander Cole Irvin. Nimmo won't end up missing much time after he left the game early on Wednesday with left quadriceps tightness, and he's back in the starting lineup after Thursday's off day. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter should be returned to starting lineups in single-year formats on Friday. Against lefty pitchers, Nimmo has been solid, hitting .262 (49-for-187) with five of his 14 home runs against them. In the month of September, he's gone 18-for-72 (.250) with two home runs, 12 RBI, 14 runs scored and three stolen bases in 20 games played.
