Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs showed up on the injury report on Thursday with an illness. The veteran running back is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
The news isn’t ideal for fantasy players. However, an illness is better than a hamstring or knee injury. Jacobs hopefully can suit up against the Titans, as the matchup is excellent for fantasy players.
Tennessee has given up an average of 25.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game to running backs this season. Furthermore, running backs have averaged 138.5 rushing yards per game over the first two weeks of the year against the Titans. If he can play, Jacobs has top-12 upside this week.

Is Josh Jacobs Playing in Week 3?
The veteran running back is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game because of the illness. However, he didn’t travel with the team to Tennessee on Friday.
While that isn’t ideal, it doesn’t mean Jacobs won’t play this week. He can fly out to Tennessee tomorrow night and play Sunday. However, that doesn’t mean Jacobs is a lock to play.
The most likely scenario for the veteran running back is that he flies out Saturday and is a game-time decision on Sunday. If Jacobs isn’t able to play against the Titans, who should fantasy players start instead?
Should I Start Ameer Abdullah?
If Jacobs misses this week’s matchup, the Raiders will lean on Zamir White, Brandon Bolden, and Abdullah. Of the three running backs, Abdullah is the one fantasy players should avoid playing.
The former second-round pick played only seven offensive snaps in Week 1. With Bolden out in Week 2, Abdullah played 14 snaps (21%). However, Bolden is off the injury report and ready to play this week.
While he will have a role on third downs and in two-minute situations, Bolden isn’t capable of filling in for Jacobs as the early downs back. If he can’t play this week, the rookie White is most suited to fill in for Jacobs.
Who Should I Add Off The Waiver Wire?
Ideally, fantasy players should grab White off the waiver wire if possible. However, if he isn’t available, target Tyler Allgeier. The former BYU star had 10 rushing attempts in his first career game last week, including three on the opening drive. More importantly, Allgeier has an excellent matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. They have given up an average of 109.5 rushing yards per game to running backs this season.
