Will Brennan Making MLB Debut Wednesday
2 years agoThe Cleveland Guardians selected the contract of outfielder Will Brennan from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, and he will make his big-league debut against the Chicago White Sox and right-hander Lance Lynn. Brennan is starting in right field and batting seventh. The team also recalled infielder Gabriel Arias from Columbus, optioned outfielder Richie Palacios to Columbus and designated infielder Ernie Clement for assignment. The team's No. 20 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, Brennan hit a combined .314/.371/.479 with an .850 OPS, 13 home runs, 107 RBI, 69 runs scored and 20 steals in 129 games with Double-A Akron and Columbus this year. It remains to be seen how much the 24-year-old left-handed hitter will play down the stretch, but he's obviously been swinging a hot bat all year down on the farm.
