Ryan Jeffers Drives In Three In Rehab Game
2 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers (thumb) had a big game in his first minor league rehab outing for Triple-A St. Paul on Friday night. Jeffers went 2-for-6 in the game with a home run, three RBI, a run scored and a strikeout. He served as the designated hitter in this one. The 25-year-old catcher has been away from the Twins since the middle of July after having surgery to fix a fractured right thumb. Because of the long layoff, he's likely to need at least a handful more rehab games, but there's a chance he can return to the Twins lineup before the end of the regular season, barring any setbacks. Before fracturing his thumb, Jeffers was hitting .214/.291/.375 with seven home runs, 25 RBI and 23 runs scored in 192 at-bats for the Twins.
