Rondale Moore 2022 NFL Player Outlook: Opportunity Knocks
2 years agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Rondale Moore was a massive disappointment in his rookie season, especially considering he was drafted 49th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Things seemed promising for the Purdue product to start the season, generating four catches for 78 yards in Week 1, followed by an impressive seven catches for 114 yards and a touchdown in Week 2. The 22-year-old seemed every bit worth the draft capital they invested in him and like he would be an integral part of the offense. Unfortunately, this would be the peak of his season, failing to score another touchdown or surpass 60 yards in a game after that. His final output was 54 receptions for 435 yards and one touchdown, adding 18 carries for 76 yards on the ground. Perhaps most concerning was his inability to overtake A.J. Green while ceding snaps to Antoine Wesley late in the season when DeAndre Hopkins was injured. Despite a subpar rookie season, the former second-round pick watched fellow wide receiver Christian Kirk leave in free agency along with pass-catching specialist Chase Edmonds. While the team traded for Marquise Brown, there will be a real opportunity to cement his role as the third option and become the de facto No. 2 during the first six games when Hopkins is suspended. Moore is currently ranked 59th in Rotoballer's rankings with an ADP of 114overall, making him a cheaper option you can take a shot on later in the draft and hope to capitalize on over the first six games.
