Bryan Edwards 2022 NFL Player Outlook: The No. 2 Wide Receiver In Atlanta?
2 years agoAtlanta Falcons wide receiver Bryan Edwards will battle for the No. 2 role this offseason. Atlanta acquired him for a fifth-round pick this past April's NFL Draft. The former third-round pick steps into a questionable wide receiver room behind 2021 first-round pick Drake London. Auden Tate, KhaDarel Hodge, Geronimo Allison, and Edwards will all compete to start opposite London on the outside. The former third-round pick was used primarily as a deep threat in 2021. Edwards had an average target depth of 14 yards and averaged 16.8 yards per reception. Excluding London, Edwards is the receiver with the most untapped potential in Atlanta. Olamide Zaccheaus is often used on short to intermediate routes, making him the favorite to start in the slot. With little competition in his way, Edwards has few hurdles to jump to secure a starting role. His ability as a deep threat should give him the edge over the competition, and while Atlanta is not projected to score often, they will be trailing in most games and have to throw. The target volume may be better than initially anticipated. Edwards has an FFPC ADP of 350 but could be a valuable waiver pickup in standard leagues, depending on his early-season production.
