Matt Olson Reaches Base Twice On Sunday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson helped the team defeat the Washington Nationals 4-3 in 12 innings on Sunday. He went 1-for-5 with a single, a walk and a run scored in the game. Olson's first season in Atlanta has been a bit of a mixed bag so far. Over 87 games, he's hit 13 home runs, which has him on a 162-game pace of 26 homers -- an underwhelming pace considering he hit 39 home runs last season. However, he leads the majors in doubles with 33. His 13.4% HR/FB rate has been his Achilles heal thus far. Once that clip becomes closer to his career 20.5% HR/FB rate, we should start to see his overall stats look a bit better.
