Yordan Alvarez Lands On Injured List With Hand Inflammation
2 years agoThe Houston Astros placed outfielder Yordan Alvarez (hand) on the 10-day injured list with right hand inflammation on Sunday. The team recalled outfielder Jose Siri to fill his roster spot. Alvarez first suffered the injury in mid-June. According to Astros manager Dusty Baker, the injury has gotten "progressively worse" to the extent that Alvarez's hand has hurt after each swing he has taken. The Astros are hopeful that Alvarez can return right after the All-Star break. The 25-year-old slugger has been one of the league's top hitters this year, slashing .306/.405/.653 with 26 home runs, 60 RBI and 57 runs.
