Harrison Bryant 2022 NFL Player Outlook: Talent Will Keep Him On The Field
2 years agoCleveland Browns tight end Harrison Bryant finds himself mostly overlooked by fantasy managers in all formats, particularly in redraft. Between the turmoil caused by Deshaun Watson and the four-year extension provided to David Njoku, it's easy to understand why he's an afterthought. The Browns receiving core looks vastly different than it did entering 2021. They traded away Odell Beckham Jr., released Jarvis Landry and Austin Hooper, drafted wide receiver David Bell, and acquired Amari Cooper. The result of all these moves is 181 vacated targets to be distributed among Cooper, Bell, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Njoku, and Bryant. The 24-year-old has seen minimal volume but has shown flashes of his downfield big-play ability, averaging 9.9 yards per reception in 2020 and 11.1 in 2021, impressive numbers for a tight end. Furthermore, he's produced three touchdowns in each of his first two seasons, at a rate of 12.5% in 2020 and 14.3% in 2021. The former fourth-round pick is dripping with upside if he becomes more involved. Much will depend on the quarterback throwing him the ball, but he'll be on the field in two tight-end sets, which the run-heavy Browns utilize, and could challenge Njoku, Peoples-Jones, and Bell for the second target in this receiving core. Bryant is currently ranked 37th in Rotoballer's rankings and will undoubtedly go undrafted in almost all leagues. This makes him a player to keep an eye on because he could emerge as a viable streaming option, especially once Watson returns.
