Brevin Jordan 2022 NFL Player Outlook: Stepping Into A Fantasy Relevant Role?
2 years agoHouston Texans' tight end Brevin Jordan did enough during his rookie season to put their faith in him as their starter heading into the 2022 season. Houston did not bring back Jordan Akins during free agency earlier this year, leaving Jordan and Pharaoh Brown as the top two on the depth chart. While the Texans fifth-round pick played in only eight games last season, he finished with six fewer targets than Brown, who led the team in targets at tight end. During his time on the field, Jordan averaged 10.9% of the targets per game, the highest average percentage by any tight end on the Texans last season. With Akins out of the picture, the 21-year-old should see a target boost. As one of the few players with an established connection with quarterback Davis Mills, Jordan has the chance to produce for fantasy managers as a streaming option off the waiver wire. The Texans' quarterbacks threw 18% of the total targets at the tight end position last season, and Jordan should command 10% or more of them as the starter in 2022. The Miami (Florida) product is one of the undrafted tight ends that fantasy managers need to keep their eye on.
