J.P. Crawford Receives Five-Game Suspension
2 years agoSeattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford was given a five-game suspension by MLB for fighting during a bench-clearing brawl with the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday. Los Angeles pitcher Andrew Wantz hit outfielder Jesse Winker on the hip after being warned earlier in the game for throwing near the head of Julio Rodriguez. Crawford was part of the on-field incident that ensued, earning him five games out. The Seattle shortstop appears to be appealing his suspension as he is in the lineup against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday. Crawford is hitting .266 with five homers, 31 runs, 19 RBI, and three steals in 2022.
