Micah Parsons 2022 NFL Player Outlook: A Different Player in 2022, But Just As Good
2 years agoLast year's Defensive Rookie of the Year Micah Parsons will be a hot commodity in almost all IDP drafts, as managers will fall for his rookie production and scintillating athleticism. However, analysts and drafters alike must recognize that Parsons' fantasy value swings significantly depending on the format of your league. If you play on a fantasy website or app where the Cowboys' star has DL eligibility, he should be one of the first five defenders drafted. His hybrid position in Big D's defense should continue with the departure of Randy Gregory from Dallas, allowing the Penn State product to lead the fantasy DL position in tackles while putting him in a position for another double-digit sack season. That profile makes him the second most valuable fantasy DL in our ranks, behind only T.J. Watt. Unfortunately, Parson's fantasy value takes a considerable hit in leagues where he only has LB eligibility. If the former Nittany Lion is just an LB on the app you play, your league will need to offer considerable sack bonuses to elevate him above LB2 status.
