Aaron Donald 2022 NFL Player Outlook: Still The Dominant DT In Fantasy
2 years agoAs always, an evaluation of Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald's fantasy value begins with the position he plays. Simply put, there is no defensive tackle in the NFL who comes close to Donald's high-end production. Donald quickly becomes a top-five fantasy defender in all formats if you play in a league that requires you to start a DT. The former Defensive Player of the Year still has significant fantasy value outside those formats. The Pitt alum hasn't registered fewer than 12.5 sacks since 2017, he's always good for at least 14 TFLs, and he's forced a minimum of four fumbles in four of his past five seasons. Those are stellar numbers that make Donald a DL1 in most fantasy formats. What keeps the Rams' star behind the likes of Cleveland Browns Myles Garrett and San Francisco 49ers Nick Bosa in our DL rankings is his age and the fact those younger pass rushers have offered equal or greater fantasy production with more weekly consistency. Note that 27% of Donald's sacks since 2020 have come in just two games, meaning he's averaged just 0.61 sacks per game over his other 31 contests.
