Myles Garrett 2022 NFL Player Outlook: Slow and Steady Wins Leagues
2 years agoWhen you consider Cleveland Browns' defensive lineman Myles Garrett was our pick to win Defensive Player of the Year two years ago, his status as our third-overall fantasy defensive lineman this year may come as a surprise. This ranking is no insult, however. The Texas A&M product continues to maintain consistent numbers, notching at least a half-sack in 12 of 17 games played last season. Garrett also has the potential to exceed his career-high in sacks (16) if he can convert just a few of his many quarterback pressures (78 in 2021) into additional sacks. While the fantasy defensive line position is the deepest it's ever been in 2022, with the addition of edge rushers like Pittsburgh Steelers T.J. Watt to the DL pool and the ascension of players like San Francisco 49ers Nick Bosa and Dallas Cowboys Micah Parsons, Garrett remains one of the more gifted pass rushers in the NFL. It also helps that the former Aggie plays with one of the better secondaries in the league. Consider Garrett to be more than just a consolation prize if you miss out on Watt or Bosa in your drafts.
