Jack Flaherty Throws Three Perfect Innings In Rehab Game
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty (shoulder) retired all nine batters he faced on 30 pitches for Double-A Springfield on Sunday in his first minor league rehab start. The right-hander touched 96 mph with his fastball in the first inning and struck out three total in three innings of work. The Cardinals will want Flaherty to move closer to 60 pitches in his next rehab outing, and he could be on track to rejoin the team and make his 2022 season debut by the end of the month. Flaherty's rehab start on Sunday was a nice first step, and the 26-year-old could be a solid No. 2 fantasy starter for the rest of the season once he returns from the injured list.
