Saquon Barkley Expects Bigger Receiving Role
3 years agoNew York Giants running back Saquon Barkley expects to have a bigger receiving role this year under new head coach Brian Daboll. "It feels like a fresh start. I feel good again. I know it's all there. I know how talented I am. Just taking it one day at a time. You feel the energy out here doing different things," Barkley said. The former second overall pick hasn't played in a full season since his Pro Bowl rookie season in 2018, and he had just 41 receptions for 263 yards and two touchdowns on 57 targets over 13 games in 2021. Injury concerns have caused Barkley to slip in the RB1 rankings, but he could have a bounce-back season if he stays healthy in what should be an improved Giants offense.
