Brandon Woodruff Improves To 5-2
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff improved his record to 5-2 on the season as his club went on to defeat the Nationals 5-1 on Saturday night. The right-hander gave up one run over six frames of work, striking out six while issuing no free passes in the 100-pitch effort. His only run against him came off a Lane Thomas homer in the third as he's now put together back-to-back one-run games after starting the season off on a rocky note. Woodruff now owns a 4.76 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and a 49/12 K/BB through 39 2/3 IP as he looks to keep his momentum going into a road start versus the Cardinals next week.
