Jarren Duran To Be Called Up On Friday
3 years agoThe Boston Red Sox will be calling up outfielder Jarren Duran from Triple-A ahead of Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox, according to Alex Speier of the Boston Globe. No word has been given yet on whose roster spot he will be replacing. The 25-year-old played in 33 games for the Red Sox last year and slashed .215/.241/.336 with two home runs, two stolen bases, 10 RBI and 17 runs. He had some major plate discipline problems with a 35.7% strikeout rate and a 3.6% walk rate. Over 14 games at Triple-A this year, he's hit .370/.460/.574 with one home run, four doubles and seven stolen bases. He's a player worth rostering in most five-outfielder leagues and all AL-only and extra deep leagues as he could be a solid contributor of both power and speed for fantasy managers.
