Dylan Carlson Sitting On Wednesday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Miami Marlins. Carlson has really struggled to begin the season and could use a day off, as he's hitting just .158/.209/.211 with no homers, two RBI, one steal and seven strikeouts in his first 43 plate appearances in 2022. If the 23-year-old doesn't pick it up soon, the Cardinals may move him out of the leadoff spot. Lars Nootbaar is in right field and is batting sixth against Marlins right-hander Sandy Alcantara on Wednesday, while second baseman Tommy Edman moves into the leadoff spot. Edman has plenty of experience batting leadoff and is 11-for-31 (.355) with three homers and seven RBI in his first nine games. He'll be a very attractive DFS play on Wednesday in the leadoff spot.
