Aaron Judge And Yankees Remain Apart On Contract
3 years agoThe New York Yankees and outfielder Aaron Judge remain in talks for a contract extension. However, according to a report from Jon Heyman and Joel Sherman, the teams remain apart on the terms of the extension. The belief is that the Yankees have offered Judge a franchise record contract in terms of yearly salary for a positional player. That means the contract exceeds Alex Rodriguez's salary of $27.5 million per year. The questions, however, are in regards to how much above that mark the Yankees have gone and how many years have been offered. Judge set a timeline for the season opener for an extension and the time is certainly winding down as the Yankees' season begins on Friday at 1:00 PM EST. Judge is set to become a free agent at the end of the year if no extension is agreed upon.
