Eddie Rosario 2022 Player Outlook: Overpriced After A Big Postseason
3 years agoRosario finished the 2021 season with a bang, slashing .271/.330/.571 in the regular season after his trade to Atlanta, and he topped that off in the NLCS by hitting .560 with three homers in 28 plate appearances. If you take a step back, however, you see that his 2021 was a lot like the rest of his career. For the year, he hit .259/.305/.435 with just 14 homers and 11 steals in 412 plate appearances. His barrel rate also stayed quite low at 5.9%, and his exit velocity topped out at 108.4. These are not the makings of a power hitter. Now that he is back with the Braves, there are likely going to be some managers in your fantasy league who remember the final memories Rosario's 2021 season gave them, and they'll be itching to give him another try. Don't fall for it, Rosario is really just a one category fantasy contributor (batting average), and he's way overpriced right now with an ADP in the 160s. Leave the lefty for someone else.
