Royce Freeman Inks One-Year Deal With Houston
3 years agoThe Houston Texans re-signed running back Royce Freeman to a one-year contract on Thursday. In November, the veteran back was let go by the Carolina Panthers mid-season and later latched on with the Texans. He served as the Texans' top backup to Rex Burkhead and appeared in seven games for Houston. The 26-year-old rushed for 169 yards on 59 attempts and caught 10 passes for 77 yards over 15 games for the Panthers/Texans in 2021. Freeman will provide the Texans running back depth and is not on the fantasy radar in an offense projected to be in the bottom of the league in 2022.
