3 years agoSan Diego Padres pitcher MacKenzie Gore touched 95-99 MPH over/around the plate when facing live hitters during Spring Training on Friday. The top prospect struggled mightily in Triple-A last season, posting a 5.85 ERA, 1.80 WHIP, and an 18:12 K: BB over 20 innings in six starts. He will continue to develop as a starter and look to compete for a spot in San Diego's rotation. The 23-year-old was not ready last season and, with an impressive Spring Training, could emerge at the big league level in 2022.
