Adam Duvall 2022 Player Outlook: A Well Known Late-Round Power Specialist
3 years agoDuvall may be the most predictable hitter in the game, and I mean that in a good way. Since 2019, he has pounded 64 home runs in 894 plate appearances, a full-season pace of 40+ bombs. That makes Duvall one of the premier power hitters in the league. The problem is that in the fantasy world, you need more than just homers. He is a big-time downer in batting average (career .232 mark, and that came down to .228 in 2021), and that does not figure to ever change. He also does not add anything gin steals, and with a low walk rate he also crushes teams in OBP leagues. A tiny silver lining here is that he is set up to drive in 100+ runs again if he can stay in this Braves lineup every day. He is what he is, a homer and RBI specialist, but your team needs to be ready to absorb the hit in batting average and steals if you are drafting him, even at the cheap draft price (#218 in ADP).
