23 hours agoAtlanta Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo is a top-10 kicking option heading into a Week 4 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Koo is a perfect 5-for-5 in field goal attempts and 4-for-4 in extra-point tries this season. The opportunities haven't been plentiful yet on the year, but the Falcons offense has been clicking much better since their atrocious Week 1 performance versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. There should be plenty of opportunities for Koo to line up for the kick in this indoor matchup against a defense that has done very well in allowing the other teams to find the end zone this season, with only four allowed in three games. Koo is ranked ninth among all kickers in the latest RotoBaller rankings for Week 4.Source: NFL.com

23 hours agoA Los Angeles Rams coach said after the team's Week 3 win over the division-rival San Francisco 49ers that the Niners' defense isn't the same this year. The focus in the offseason was on the team's offensive holdouts (receiver Brandon Aiyuk and left tackle Trent Williams) while the team was quietly breaking in another new defensive coordinator in Nick Sorensen, who was promoted after the team parted ways with Steve Wilks after one season. Through the first three weeks in 2024, the Niners D has the third-worst third-down defense in the league, allowing a 52.9% conversion rate. Over head coach Kyle Shanahan's first seven seasons, his defenses allowed opponents to convert 39% of their third downs. It's something to watch as the season progresses, but it doesn't help that defensive tackle Javon Hargrave (triceps) is likely to miss the rest of the year.Source: The Athletic - Dianna Russini
23 hours agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers have officially ruled out guard Isaac Seumalo (pectoral) for Sunday's matchup against the Colts. The 2016 third-round pick has been sidelined for the first four games of the regular season due to a pectoral injury. Although he made strides to return this week, participating in all three practice sessions as a limited participant, he could not fully recover from a preseason strain. Last season, Seumalo started all 17 games for Pittsburgh after signing a three-year, $24 million free-agent contract in March 2023. The Philadelphia Eagles originally drafted him in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, where he appeared in 81 games (60 starts) and played a vital role in the team's Super Bowl run in 2022. His next opportunity to return to the field will be in Week 5 against the Cowboys on October 6. In the meantime, Spencer Anderson will continue to fill in as the Steelers' starting left guard.Source: Around The NFL @AroundTheNFL

23 hours agoAtlanta Falcons Kyle Pitts is a TE1 heading into their divisional game versus the New Orleans Saints. Pitts' season has gone the opposite of what fantasy managers were hoping for when Kirk Cousins took over as the quarterback for this team. He's had no more than five targets in a game and hasn't exceeded more than three receptions. Every other top tight end this season has also been a massive disappointment. On another positive note, the top tight end of the season is Dallas Goedert, who just finished a 10-for-170-yard performance against the very Saints defense that Pitts is about to face. If you drafted Pitts, you are likely starting him and should do so with confidence this week. RotoBaller's weekly rankings align with this assessment, as Pitts is ranked as the No. 7 tight end for Week 4.Source: NFL.com

23 hours agoThe Buffalo Bills love what they've seen from quarterback Josh Allen through three games. He's playing efficiently, making good decisions and taking care of the football. Allen has also used all of the team's skill players, and the proof of that came in the Week 3 dismantling of the Jaguars, when 10 different Bills players had a catch. Buffalo is 10-2 since offensive coordinator Joe Brady took over play-calling duties in 2023. Not only is the passing game working, but the Bills have run the ball more than anyone else in the NFL since Week 11 of last year (34.6 times per game). Allen has more control and power at the line of scrimmage and is doing more with less in the receiving game in 2024 after losing both Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. In the highest-scoring offense in football, Allen remains a must-start QB1 heading into a Sunday night showdown on the road against the Ravens.Source: The Athletic - Dianna Russini

24 hours agoAtlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London is a high-end WR2 and a must-start in a divisional matchup against the New Orleans Saints in Week 4. London and Kirk Cousins have found a bit of chemistry in the past couple of games after the abysmal two-catch, 15-yard performance in Week 1. Mostly, this has been due to Cousins finding London in the end zone both weeks. If you were to take out the touchdowns, the outlying numbers wouldn't look as impressive, with a 6-for-54 and a 6-for-67 performance. The target volume is right where fantasy managers want it, with nine on the day in the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. London and Cousins will build off that performance against a New Orleans Saints defense in the top 10 in receiving yards allowed this season. Fantasy managers can start him confidently this week against a team much more vulnerable in the air than on the ground.Source: NFL.com
24 hours agoDetroit Lions kicker Jake Bates is a perfect 5-for-5 on his field goal attempts so far this season but none have come from more than 35 yards out. He did miss an extra point last week at Arizona. He has a decent matchup in Week 4 against the Seahawks at Ford Field but until he proves himself on a long kick it is tough to trust him as a fantasy kicker option. The Lions have a good offense which would seem to suggest plenty of opportunities for Bates but Dan Campbell's propensity to go for it on 4th-and-short situations can be viewed as a factor limiting Bates' overall upside. Until fantasy managers get more clarity on the long-range ability of Bates as a kicker, it is best to leave him on the waiver wire and take a wait-and-see approach.Source: ESPN
