Andy Dalton Expected To Start Thursday
3 years agoChicago Bears quarterback Andy Dalton is expected to make the start on Thursday against the Detroit Lions with rookie Justin Fields (ribs) dealing with a rib injury that he suffered in the Week 11 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, according to sources. Fields spent Monday undergoing more tests after X-rays were negative for fractured ribs, and the turnaround on a short week is too quick. Fields' injury doesn't seem too serious, so there's a chance he could be back in Week 13, but Dalton should be leading the offense in Week 12. The 34-year-old veteran threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns and nearly led the team to a win in relief. Although Fields is the future and has a much higher long-term ceiling because of his rushing ability, Dalton might make Chicago's pass-catchers more attractive in fantasy (mainly wide receiver Darnell Mooney). Dalton will be a nice QB2 streamer in superflex leagues this week against the winless Lions.
