Pat Freiermuth Ruled Out Against Chiefs
3 years agoPittsburgh Steelers rookie tight end Pat Freiermuth (concussion) was unable to clear the league's concussion protocol and has been ruled out for Week 16 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Freiermuth will miss the first game of his career after suffering a concussion in last week's win over the Tennessee Titans. The 23-year-old has had an excellent rookie season, catching 49 of his 64 targets for 422 yards and seven touchdowns in 14 games. He's been one of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's favorite red-zone weapons, giving him low-end TE1 appeal on a weekly basis. With Freiermuth out, Zach Gentry will get the start with Eric Ebron still on Injured Reserve. Gentry won't be a plug-and-play option at the position in fantasy.
