3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Elijah Mitchell (finger) is listed as day-to-day on Monday after missing the Week 11 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mitchell underwent surgery on a broken finger last week, but he could return to action in Week 12 against the Minnesota Vikings. How much the 23-year-old is able to do in practice this week will give us a better idea if he has a chance at facing Minnesota on Sunday. With both Mitchell and JaMycal Hasty (ankle) out on Sunday, Jeff Wilson Jr. had 20 touches as the primary running back. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel was also used more on the ground, while rookie Trey Sermon had 10 carries and caught his only target in the passing game. Mitchell should return to lead-back duties when he's healthy and would be a strong RB2 against the Vikings if he's active.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
