Ben Roethlisberger Preparing As If He'll Play
3 years agoPittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada said that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is preparing as if he is going to play on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Chargers. Roethlisberger missed the tie in Week 10 with the Detroit Lions after testing positive for COVID-19 and needs two negative tests in order to be activated before Sunday. Big Ben doesn't need to actually practice this week to play against the Bolts, and he's been conducting offensive meetings on Zoom. If he doesn't get cleared, backup Mason Rudolph would make a second straight start under center for Pittsburgh. If Roethlisberger gets cleared, he'd be a low-end QB2 option for fantasy managers against a Chargers defense that is allowing 206 passing yards per game, fourth-fewest in the NFL.
