Anthony DeSclafani, Alex Wood Don't Receive Qualifying Offers
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitchers Anthony DeSclafani and Alex Wood did not receive one-year, $18.4 million qualifying offers from the team on Sunday. The 31-year-old DeSclafani had a career season in San Francisco in 2021 after signing a one-year, $6 million deal. The right-hander had an excellent 3.17 ERA in his 31 starts while striking out 152 and walking 42 in 167 2/3 innings. Wood, a 30-year-old southpaw, also had a solid season with a 3.83 ERA over 26 starts while striking out 152 and walking 39 in 138 2/3 innings for the Gigantes. Wood signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the Giants before last season, so it's safe to say that San Francisco hit it out of the park with both DeSclafani and Wood in free agency last year.
