Elijah Mitchell Doesn't Practice Wednesday
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Elijah Mitchell (ribs) was held out of Wednesday's practice. Mitchell's status must be monitored for the rest of the week. If he is unable to play this weekend against the Arizona Cardinals, JaMycal Hasty and rookie Trey Sermon would be asked to take on much bigger roles in the backfield. Mitchell has become a must-start in fantasy after taking over this backfield when healthy, though, as he's gone over 100 yards rushing in each of the last two weeks while seeing exactly 18 carries in Weeks 7 and 8. He's also found the end zone twice in the last two weeks and has at least 17 carries in four of his first five NFL games. If Mitchell is active on Sunday, he'll remain a strong RB2 choice.
