Raiders Release Willie Snead IV
3 years agoThe Las Vegas Raiders released wide receiver Willie Snead IV on Tuesday. Snead "wasn't playing much and asked for the release," according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. The 29-year-old pass-catcher caught just three of five targets for 32 yards in his seven games with the Raiders this year, with his 15% of the offensive snaps in the Week 7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles being his highest percentage of snaps in 2021. Snead could latch on with another team's practice squad or as depth on an active roster, but he's highly unlikely to become a major contributor elsewhere. The Raiders will continue to use Hunter Renfrow, Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards as their top three receivers after their bye in Week 8.
