Packers Not Ruling Out Marquez Valdes-Scantling For Thursday
3 years agoGreen Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur isn't ruling out wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) returning from Injured Reserve and playing on Thursday night in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals. Green Bay has a bigger need for MVS to return now that both Davante Adams and Allen Lazard, the team's top two receivers this year, are on the COVID-19 list and are unlikely to play this week. Even if Valdes-Scantling were to return, we'd be surprised if he had a big role, as he's missed the last four weeks after catching just six of 16 targets for 76 yards and a touchdown in the first three weeks. Expect Randall Cobb, Equanimeous St. Brown and rookie Amari Rodgers to be quarterback Aaron Rodgers' top three receivers against Arizona, with tight end Robert Tonyan also being more involved.
