3 years agoThe New Orleans Saints signed kicker Brian Johnson off the Chicago Bears practice squad on Tuesday, according to a source. The undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech by rule must stay on the team's 53-man active roster for three games. Cody Parkey groin injured his groin in pre-game workouts and missed two of his extra-point tries in the Week 5 win over the Washington Football Team. The Saints are off in Week 6, but Johnson could fill in as the team's kicker after that until Wil Lutz is ready to return from Injured Reserve after having offseason core-muscle surgery. The Saints have had terrible luck with replacements for Lutz, so fantasy managers should stay away from Johnson.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
