Carson Wentz Practicing In Full, Will Be Ready For Week 1
3 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz (foot) will be a full practice participant on Wednesday, according to head coach Frank Reich. Wentz will be on the field in Week 1 for his Colts debut against the Seattle Seahawks. The 28-year-old quarterback was a franchise signal-caller in Philadelphia, but things went sour in 2020 and he was traded to Indy. He led the league in sacks (50), was tied for third in the NFL in interceptions (15) and was third in fumbles (10) in just 12 games for the Eagles. Wentz has a fresh start with a familiar coach in Reich and has an excellent offensive line in front of him, so there is certainly an opportunity for a bounce-back. He has plenty of weapons in Indy but is coming off foot surgery and is in an offense that is expected to be run-first. Wentz went undrafted in most standard-sized leagues and should only be rostered in leagues that start two quarterbacks. Consider him a low-end QB2 coming off the injury in his team debut.
