Falcons Writer Believes Mike Davis Will Be Workhorse Back
3 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Mike Davis will be a part of a rotation at the position, though NFL.com's Scott Bair believes the veteran will end up as the team's workhorse. Davis was thrust into a starting role last season for the Panthers and excelled, totaling 903 scrimmage yards and eight touchdowns on 17.4 touches per game in 12 starts in 2020. While Davis isn't exactly the most proven option, the Falcons have several question marks on the depth chart behind the 29-year-old, meaning the path to a workhorse-type role is there for him. Davis might not have the ceiling of other running backs in his ADP range, but he should have a solid weekly floor thanks to his pass-catching ability, making him a good investment at his low-end RB2 price tag.
