Wil Lutz Could Miss Significant Time With Core Muscle Injury
3 years agoNew Orleans Saints kicker Wil Lutz (core) could miss eight to 12 weeks with a core muscle injury, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Lutz was dealing with a groin injury at the beginning of camp- though he was able to practice Wednesday before leaving Saturday's session early with the core issue. The veteran kicker is slated to visit Dr. William Meyers in the next few days to be evaluated for surgery, which generally requires an eight-to-12 week recovery, a timeline that would begin after he gets the surgery. The Pro Bowler will be sorely missed, as he has routinely ranked among the league leaders in points while finishing among the top-12 fantasy kickers in each of his five seasons in New Orleans. Expect the Saints to sign a free agent kicker to hold down the fort until Lutz is healthy.
